Danicka Ransom is a public servant with more than 25 years of experience in local government across two states and three counties. For the past 20 years, she has worked for Osceola County Housing & Community Services. She brings expertise in procurement, Minority and Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) programs, and nearly two decades of leadership in housing, community development, and community services. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to equitable growth, inclusive opportunity, and meaningful community impact.
As Director of Housing & Community Services for the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners, Ms. Ransom oversees the strategic and day-to-day administration of critical local, state, and federally funded programs, including Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, and State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funding. Her leadership also extends to Veteran Services, Homeless Initiatives, Opioid Prevention Initiatives, Elderly Services, and Social Services.
Under her direction, resources are maximized to create, expand and preserve affordable housing and strengthen low- and moderate-income communities throughout Osceola County with an array of programs. She is known for her strategic vision, collaborative leadership style, and ability to build strong partnerships that drive sustainable results. Her work has directly impacted vulnerable populations by promoting housing stability, economic mobility, and long-term self-sufficiency.
Ms. Ransom’s professional excellence is matched by her deep community engagement. She serves on the boards of Help Now of Osceola, serving women and children of domestic violence, Homeless Services Network (HSN), and UCP Charter Schools, and is actively involved with the Florida Community Development Association (FCDA) and the National Association of Community Development and Economic Development, where she serves on the Education Committee.
A passionate advocate for children with autism and those with complex medical needs, she regularly volunteers her time supporting special needs children and the Ronald McDonald House in Orlando. Her dedication to service extends beyond her profession, reflecting her core belief that leadership is rooted in compassion, integrity, and action.
