Genesis Robinson

Vanguard of Community Advocacy

Genesis Robinson is a political strategist and community organizer with over a decade of experience delivering results at the local, state, and federal levels of government. He serves as the Executive Director of Equal Ground Education Fund and Action Fund, Florida’s preeminent Black-led voting rights organization.

An alumnus of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), where he studied Political Science and Public Administration, Genesis began his professional career in the United States House of Representatives, serving as a Legislative Assistant during the 113th and 114th Congresses. Since then, he has held various leadership positions

throughout the state of Florida, managing and consulting on local and state campaigns while advancing policy initiatives that strengthen communities.

In 2018, while working in the Florida Legislature, Genesis assisted in the successful passage of legislation to select Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune as one of two individuals to represent the state of Florida in the National Statuary Hall Collection in the United States Capitol — a historic achievement that made her the first African American to

represent any state in the collection.

Genesis joined Equal Ground in 2021, where he initially managed and expanded operations in Volusia County. Within a year, the organization created the position of Political Director and tapped Genesis to lead the division. In that role, he was responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with elected officials, tracking legislation, and creating strategies to educate and mobilize Black Floridians around the legislative process. He now leads the organization as Executive Director, guiding statewide strategy, advocacy, voter education, and civic engagement efforts.

His leadership and impact have earned him several honors, including Daytona Beach 40 under 40 honoree, the Orlando Magic Diversity Game Changer Award, Joyce M. Cusack Leadership Award, the Movement for Change Juneteenth Award, the Distinguished Man of the Year Award, the Daytona Beach Mayor’s Impact Award, and

the Trailblazer Award by BCB Mastermind.

Genesis is married to a Volusia County educator, and together they reside in Daytona Beach with their two children.
