Leia Perez

Director of Events

Leia Perez is a creative visionary, passionate entrepreneur, and community advocate with a flair for bringing people together. As the Founder of Wedding Wish, a nonprofit dedicated to granting dream weddings to couples facing life-altering health challenges, Leia exemplifies compassion and commitment. Her ability to partner with industry professionals, corporate sponsors, and volunteers reflects her gift for creating unforgettable moments rooted in love and generosity.


In addition to her nonprofit work, Leia is the Pastry Chef and Owner of Candyland Designs Co., a Kissimmee-based bakery specializing in custom cakes and desserts that are as beautiful as they are delicious. With over eight years in the culinary space, Leia has turned her bakery into a community staple and a destination for creative, mouthwatering designs.


Leia’s professional journey started with a strong foundation in business and finance, earning her B.S. in Management from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. Before founding her ventures, she served as an accountant at Bridge of Hope of Central Florida, where she supported children with disabilities in accessing life-changing therapies.


As BECC’s Director of Events, Leia leverages her dynamic experience in nonprofit leadership, event planning, and business management to create vibrant, impactful gatherings that bring the community together. From orchestrating large-scale celebrations to fostering collaboration between stakeholders, Leia’s events are about more than logistics—they’re about making meaningful connections.


Whether she’s baking the perfect cake, organizing a heartwarming wedding, or building partnerships for BECC, Leia’s passion for community and creativity shines in everything she does. Her dedication to empowering others makes her a vital part of BECC’s mission to uplift and inspire Osceola County’s Black community.
