Tamyia Paul

Emerging Leader Award

Born and raised in Osceola County, Tamyia Paul is a faith-driven public servant committed to service, excellence, and community advancement. Her leadership spans public safety, local government, and higher education, reflecting a consistent dedication to strengthening the institutions that serve Central Florida.

Tamyia currently serves as Senior Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Chief of the Orlando Police Department, where she supports the department’s FDLE-certified Training Center and in-house Basic Recruit Academy. Through this work, she contributes to strengthening how officers are recruited, trained, and prepared to serve the community.

Previously, she spent over three years at Orlando City Hall as Board Coordinator, managing appointment and compliance processes for more than 170 citizen volunteers across 25 advisory boards. Her efforts enhanced civic engagement and ensured adherence to municipal policy and Sunshine Law, earning her the City of Orlando’s Exemplary Service Award.

A distinguished scholar, Tamyia graduated from Valencia College’s Seneff Honors College, where she was named the 2020 Distinguished Graduate and Commencement Speaker. She later earned her bachelor’s degree in legal studies from UCF’s Burnett Honors College and was recognized as Justice of the Year in a unanimous decision by the UCF Student Government Judicial Branch. Throughout her academic journey, she secured over $57,000 in scholarships and grants, graduated debt-free, and remained actively involved in student leadership and service initiatives.

Now pursuing her MBA, Tamyia remains engaged with the NAACP Osceola County Branch and the UCF Young Alumni Ambassador Association, while continuing her broader civic involvement. She regularly serves as a keynote speaker and panelist, investing in the next generation and uplifting the community that raised her.
